Frequently Asked Questions about Hosting the Life Planning Seminar
Question: Is there a minimum or maximum number of participants to host the seminar?
Answer: There is no minimum for this seminar, but there is a maximum. I prefer there be no more than 150 participant. With a small number of participants more time is given to each individual. At the same time, a large number of partipants is benefical because there will be more creative ideas and interaction between the participants. The seminar is suitable for both a large audience or small one. I prefer a mid-sized audience :)

Question: What is the ideal age for the seminar?
Answer: The ideal age group for the seminar’s attendees ranges between 16 and 35. Nevertheless, Both older people and younger people have attend before and Elhamdel Allah benefited.

Question: Can people of other faiths attend the seminar?
Answer: People of other faiths have attended before, and Elhamdel Allah they have benefited. However, honestly the seminar is geared towards Muslims. There are a lot of secular life-planning workshops available , my target audience - at least for now - is the Muslim community. There are verses and ahadith that are used during the seminar. Nevertheless, people of other faiths have benefited from the seminar, but it is important to understand that this seminar is not a DAWAH event.

Question: What is the duration of the seminar?
Answer: The seminar is usually planned as a day-long event. The seminar runs 6-7 hours with breaks every 50 minutes. Don’t worry about the time. Believe it or not, the most common feedback I get is that people wanted more time :)

Question: What are some of the financials required to host the seminar?
Answer: It is expected that the host will handle the presenter's air transportation and hotel accommodation.
As for an honorarium, I personally don't ask for a certain amount, and I leave it up to the host. In the past, some MSAs have given me honorariums varying from large one to not at all. I leave that up to the host's judgment and budget. I usually tell people what till you attend and see what value you really get out of the seminar.
On the same topic of money, some MSAs charge people for attending and others don't- its really up to the host.
I advice that you charge people something for attending even if it is small - just for the sake of commitment.
Some MSAs provide lunch to the attendees and others don't; its up to the host.

Question: What are some of logistics required to host the seminar?
Answer: Since there is a lot of writing in the seminar, people need to have either a table or desk in front of them to write on. So the best room setup is Classroom style.
If that is not possible then banquet style will do.
I also need a projector and a white board or Flip-pad (just something to write on) would be preferred.

Question: How many people will come and to conduct the seminar?
Answer: In most cases only presenter comes, however there is a possibility that I bring one more presenter with me. To be determined depending on the circumstances of the seminar.

Question: How should attendees register for the seminar?
Answer: It is the host’s responsibility. I like to have a rough idea of how many people will be attending a day or two before I come.

Question: What is an exmaple of a typical weekend schedule to host the seminar?
Answer: Usually when I visit an MSA or a community for a weekend, the life planning seminar is done during one day (usually Saturday), and then we can do MSA training on another day (Sunday Morning). It is also very common that we give a spiritual lecture (typically a tour of the hereafter) during my visit (Friday Night or Saturday Night). Its totally up to the host what they want me to do while I'm there.
